Collection of 3 'Spy' cartoons
REF: 082
Price: £750
A collection of 3 framed 'Spy' cartoons.
There is a considerable amount of information about the characters on the reverse side of each framed picture. The name 'Spy' was the name used by a very well known prolific artist named Sir Leslie Ward (1851-1922). He was born into an British aristocratic family, and many of his caricatures were of people he knew. Nearly all of them appeared in Vanity Fair magazine.
The pictures are of Benjamin Disraeli, Edward VI and James Abbott McNeill Whistler.
