One of the Few
A 1940's Spitfire which flew with the RAF 610 squadron (called the City of Chester squadron). It was stationed at Biggin Hill aerodrome in Kent and participated in The Battle of Britain. It was an excellent fighter aircraft and saw service all over the world, as well as becoming famous in The Battle of Britain in 1940 onwards when it was in conflict with enemy planes over London and other cities in the Blitz.
These planes were flown by many heroes of the RAF such as Douglas Bader - 'The legless Pilot'. He was a group captain with 242 squadron RAF who's members will be forever remembered as heroes of the sky.
